This course support students to understand the following points - the terminology used in food safety, the laws that apply to food businesses and food handlers, food hazards and how the risk of food poisoning can be contained, issues surrounding temperature controls, the importance of personal hygiene and general cleaning in food premises.

Students are assessed by an examination paper consisting of 30 multiple choice questions.
